Hi. My name is Kimber.

I always thought after I raised my four children, I would become a licensed midwife. But now I realize I want to specialize as a labor coach to support you under the care of your amazing doctor or midwife.

My own four birth experiences, my professional doula training, clients I've served, and birthing books I've read have given me so much insight and experience as follows:

I’ve always believed in natural childbirth. I accomplished it with my first, but I did not enjoy it. I had taken birthing classes, but in the end, I was not prepared for birth. My midwife went to bed for 8 hours straight until it was time to push. I suffered though I had my husband, my experienced mother of nine children, and a birth attendant present.

With my second, I went straight to the hospital and asked for my epidural with no regrets.

My third, I confidently met my midwife at the Women's Pavilion and never asked for an epidural. I did it natural and enjoyed every minute of it because I was prepared.

My fourth, I used a method I nicknamed the Pavlov method that Dr. Lamaze observed while in Russia. With this method and because of a wise midwife at the Women's Pavilion, I was able to avoid a cesarean when complications arose.

I received my doula training from Carrie Kenner, a retired birth doula of 15 years who attended over 350 births and has professionally trained over 2,500 doulas nationwide.

As of December 2025, my clients consist of births required for Dona International and volunteering at a birth center. Prior to a birth I attended in a hospital setting, I prayed that I would make a difference. When the monitors and human error didn’t detect that there were complications with the baby, I encouraged dad to seek medical help even though the nurse had just left the room. Dad summoned the medical field and the doctor broke her water which had long sense been contaminated with meconium. Had professional help been delayed any longer, the outcome would have been different.

Of the many books I’ve read, I will briefly mention Ina Mae Gaskin’s books. There I learned that birth doesn’t have to be a painful experience; it can actually be a pleasurable one.
